The Creation

GenesisCreationBeginning

In the beginning

Genesis 1-2 declares that God created the heaven and the earth, and everything in them, by His word. Creation is purposeful, ordered and “very good.”

What we learn

  • God is the eternal Creator of all things (1:1)

  • Humanity is made in the image of God, male and female (1:27)

  • God saw everything He had made, and it was very good (1:31)

  • God formed man and breathed life into him (2:7)

  • It is not good for man to be alone (2:18)

Application

Being made in God's image gives every person dignity and worth. How does seeing creation as God's good gift change the way you treat the world and other people?
