1. Introduction
King James Bible (“we”, “us”) values your privacy highly. This privacy policy explains what data we collect via kingjamesbible.io, how we use it and what rights you have as a user. By using our service you agree to this policy.
2. What data do we collect?
We collect the following categories of personal data:
- Account data — email address and password (encrypted) at registration.
- Usage data — Bible chapters, saved verses, studies, prayers and collections you create.
- Payment data — for a Premium subscription, Mollie processes the payment. We only receive a confirmation; no card or bank details.
- Technical data — IP address, browser type and page visits (via anonymous statistics).
3. What do we use your data for?
- Providing and improving our Bible reading and study features.
- Managing your account and subscription.
- Sending transactional emails (confirmations, password recovery).
- Analyzing anonymous usage to improve the app.
We never sell your data to third parties.
4. Cookies
King James Bible uses functional cookies that are strictly necessary for the site to work (session authentication). We do not place advertising cookies or third-party tracking cookies. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, but this may affect how the site works.
5. Third parties and processors
We use the following trusted parties:
- Mollie — payment processing (subscriptions). Privacy policy: mollie.com/privacy.
- Hosting — our servers comply with applicable data protection law.
Data processing agreements are in place with all processors in line with the GDPR.
6. Security
We take appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your data: HTTPS encryption, encrypted password storage (bcrypt) and restricted access to production databases. In the event of a data breach we will inform affected users and the relevant authority within the legal time frame.
7. Your rights (GDPR)
If you are an EU resident, you have the following rights:
- Access — request which data we hold about you.
- Rectification — have inaccurate data corrected.
- Erasure — request that all your data be deleted (“right to be forgotten”).
- Restriction — temporarily restrict processing.
- Portability — obtain your data in a common format.
- Objection — object to certain processing.

8. Retention period
We keep account data for as long as your account is active. After deletion, personal data is erased within 30 days, unless legal obligations (e.g. tax records) require longer retention.
9. Changes
We may update this privacy policy. For significant changes you will receive a notice by email or a banner on the site. The date at the top of this document indicates the latest version.
