Prayer in the Bible

PrayerTopicalPractice

Talking with God

Prayer is simply communion with God — bringing everything to Him with thanksgiving. The Bible urges us to pray continually, honestly and with faith.

What Scripture teaches

  • Be careful for nothing; in everything by prayer make your requests known (Philippians 4:6)

  • And the peace of God shall keep your hearts and minds (Philippians 4:7)

  • Pray without ceasing (1 Thessalonians 5:17)

  • The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much (James 5:16)

  • Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find (Matthew 7:7)

Application

Start small: turn one worry today into a prayer of thanksgiving and request. Notice how God's peace begins to guard your heart.
