The Resurrection

EasterResurrectionPaul

He is risen

The resurrection of Jesus is the foundation of the Christian faith. In 1 Corinthians 15 Paul insists: if Christ is not risen, faith is vain — but He is risen indeed.

Why it matters

  • Christ died for our sins, was buried, and rose the third day (15:3-4)

  • If Christ is not raised, our faith is in vain (15:14)

  • Christ is risen, the firstfruits of them that slept (15:20)

  • Death is swallowed up in victory (15:54)

  • “He is not here: for he is risen” (Matthew 28:6)

Application

The resurrection means death is not the end and sin is truly defeated. Where do you need resurrection hope today?
